Morrilton High School hosted its first ever speech and debate tournament this weekend! Students from Dardanelle, Bigelow, and Russellville high schools competed as a part of the River Valley Speech and Debate League. Morrilton High School received the 2nd place sweepstakes trophy and placed in several Individual Events. Salina Sosa won 1st place in Poetry Interpretation. Aarya Patel won 1st place in IPDA Speaking, broke to semifinals in IPDA, and won 5th place in Impromptu Speaking and Original Oratory. Kynlee Little won 4th place in Poetry, 3rd place in Informative Speaking, and 4th place in Impromptu Speaking. Justin Burguete won 1st place in Novice IPDA Debate and broke to semifinals for Public Forum debate.
